For Progressive Fine Art Editions

I received my art training by working side by side with a truly incredible painter Douglas A Manning and thus learned firsthand working artist techniques. I was not allowed to touch color till I had spent four years using graphite pencil. After my pencil work I graduated to wildlife portraits in pastel. Galleries told me that pastel doesn’t sell and I needed to focus on oils or acrylics. Oils and acrylics came quickly.

My favorite subject has always been people with great character in their faces and animals. I do have a great deal of trouble painting the same subject such as animals over and over again. It would be wonderful to be represented by an agent that allowed my subjects and perhaps mediums to vary on occasion. Over the years I have developed several styles in every medium I could find and this variety brings me a great deal of satisfaction. In this package I have included images in pastel, oil, charcoal and acrylic to give you an idea of the variety of work I do.

My paintings are in several corporate collections as well as in many countries around the world. I have been selling my work since I was nineteen and have had some success but if I were to be represented by Progressive Editions my work would be in front of such a larger audience the sales would naturally increase I’m sure. I work six days a week and each day is a minimum of six hours. Because of this schedule I produce on average one work per day when I have my reference gathered.

Pastels are known for being delicate and need to be behind glass which adds to production costs but because of the surface I use my pastel works are incredibly stable. I use archival suede matboard which holds the pastel so secure that they can take a great deal of rough handling and show no signs of distress. They do still need glass of course but have a very strong bond.

I welcome any feedback you might have for me and my work. I am hoping that my work will meet with your approval enough to gain your representation. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
